Login Block Template

Permalink 1 user found helpful
This custom template for the Login Block will hide the login form when the user is already logged in, displaying their Username. (rename to .php and put in the "/blocks/login/templates" Directory)

(btw I posted this as a review on the Login Block but the file I shared is not displayed)

Yes in your block DIR where you uploaded the login block, you will need to create a new DIR called templates. then upload this file into that DIR. Once that is done, when you are in edit mode, you can click on the Login Block after t has been added then choose "Set Custom Template" and you will see a drop-down box with this template as an option. Choose it and you should be fine.

This is the same method used for all block templates. If you are wanting to create your own custom templates you can navigate to the block DIR(3rd party would be in /blocks, built in would be in /concrete/blocks) then copy the "view.php" file into the DIR I outlined above.

Hope this helps.

Great job! This template should be included! But... in IE8 it looks awful. I looked at the code. I've the original view.php and this one (hopefully) correctly merged. I've adjusted the code a little bit, so there would always be <?php instead of <?.

The only thing I can't get figured out is why the username box is a bit longer than the password box. This only happens in IE6/7/8 as well with the original template, your mod, and your adjusted mod.

Hope you don't mind...

Couldn't add the file, when I was editing my previous post. (I had forgotten to take my own edits out of the file)

I am all for anything that makes it better. I have been holding off on IE8. Guess I should just take the plunge lol.

thanks for the fixes guys. tested it in IE6 for just a straight user non-admin login and works well. I'll test it in IE 7 and IE 8 and let you know how it goes, as well as Safari and Firefox for the Mac.

I was wondering what you guys did with the /myaccount/ page? Any examples of what would be useful...

As of now, I just have a dead page which is not worth linking to and would lead to confusion... the userinfo add-on (i think its called that) does not show the logged in users profile...

Ideas/Solutions?

Thanks
